The ISAA was  formed in Gatlinberg, Tenn. on June 29, 1985. We were chartered by Imperial in November of 1985. Our first Mid-Year meeting was held in Las Vegas, NV in February of 1986. Our first Annual meeting was at Imperial in Los Angeles, July 1986. The Officers elected in June of 85 were considered to be Under Dispensation (UD). At the Annual meeting the original officers were re-elected, to serve a full term in a chartered organization. These first officers were Commander George W. Odell (AMARA), 1st Vice Commander Jerome Givens (TANGIERS), 2nd Vice Commander Doug (RED) Sanders (HEJAZ), Secretary/Treasurer Wes Dickman (AMARA). The 2nd Mid-Year meeting was held in Galveston, TX. Feb. 1987. All Annual meetings, by Imperial rule, must be held in conjunction with Imperial Session.

At our next meeting our bylaws were amended and eleven more Temples joined the ISAA bringing our total member Temples to 35.

Past Commander's Message

Well, Here we are at the end of another year for the Inter-
national Shrine Aviation Association and I as your Commander for
2008-2009. I have enjoyed it very much being your Commander and
working with the Officers and the members that ask for advice or
help. The only thing that put a black cloud over I.S.A.A. was
loosing our 4th Vice Commander, William "Bill" Eisele from Ainad
Shrine Center of East St. Louis, Il. Bill was my right hand man in
that area. I attended his wake which I represented the I.S.A.A in
Uniform since I was his Commander and the only I.S.A.A. officer
close enough to attend. We all will miss him for he was a go getter.

As your Commander this past year, I tried to make some
things uniform for the entire association. I hope the new Commander
will carry on with some of them. I have told him that I would advise
and help when or where he would ask me. Louis Laurich is now your
new Commander and I know he will have his own ideas and plans. He
will appoint his own Ambassadors, Historian and Chaplin. I also
feel he will be a very good Commander for I.S.A.A.

I thought that the annual meeting and the banquet went very
well along with the installation. Again, I want to thank everybody
for a very good year in 2008-2009. I will stay as your quarter-
master and all membership chairman, for annual, life, and Shrine
Center units. I will be here to help anybody at anytime. Thanks to
all.

Yours in the faith,
Your new Past Commander

Eldon L. Schumaker
